Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (Females Only)
In women, Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) stimulates the production of eggs in your ovaries. High levels of FSH during reproductive years may indicate a reduced egg supply, so can be used to confirm the onset of menopause. Low levels suggest that you are not ovulating. This means you could either experience difficulty getting pregnant, or you are already pregnant. Low levels may also be caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Both low and high levels of FSH are associated with infertility.
