Why don’t you carry out your health checks in hospitals?

Bluecrest uses the very latest mobile screening equipment at our network of over 2,000 hotel conference centres across the UK and Ireland. The venues have been chosen based on their convenient locations, comfortable surroundings, accessibility, parking and transport links.  All venues are regularly quality checked by our Events team and Screening Specialists to ensure they meet our high standards. We find our customers really benefit from relaxed, friendly, private and comfortable surroundings. We only use high quality, private screening rooms. And since we don’t have the same overheads associated with running our own private hospital, we’re able to pass our savings on to you by offering affordable health checks which are medically robust.

Who processes my results?

Your blood samples and other readings will be analysed by the largest independent laboratory in the UK, The Doctors Laboratory (TDL). TDL are fully accredited experts with over 30 years’ experience in laboratory and cardiology services. Once TDL have analysed your samples and readings, your test results are sent securely to our in-house Results team who compile your personalised Results Report.

Will I have to get undressed during my appointment?

No, our health checks are all non-invasive, and most just require a couple of small blood samples and a few key body measurements. If your package includes a body composition scan, you will be asked to take off your shoes and socks though, but full preparation instructions will be provided when you book your appointment.

Who will my appointment be with?

Our friendly Health Screening Specialists fully trained in Phlebotomy (blood-taking) will take some key measurements and a couple of small blood samples. Our Health Screening Specialists have varying backgrounds in the health and wellbeing sector. Some are trained Nurses, whilst others hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in subjects including Sports Science, Fitness, Nutrition, Dietetics, Physiology and Physiotherapy.

Can I get these tests free on the NHS?

The NHS doesn’t normally offer tests unless you display symptoms. The NHS does have a screening programme in place to screen for certain illnesses in people of certain ages. However, the NHS does not normally offer comprehensive screening with a detailed personalised results report.

How long will my appointment take?

Depending on the tests or package you’ve chosen, your appointment will take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.

What happens if my results show a serious problem?

If there are any critical results discovered by our laboratory who analyse your samples we will contact you immediately, so you won’t need to wait for your full results report to arrive to take appropriate action.

Will I be able to discuss my results with a GP?

All our packages come with access to a free 24/7 GP helpline which you can use for a full year after your appointment, whether you have a specific query about one of your test results or you just need some general health advice. Your Results Report also includes a handy one-page GP summary which you can share with your own GP should you wish. Some of our premium packages also include a Private GP Consultation which takes place via phone or webcam once you’ve received your Results Report so you can go through your results in detail.

Do I need to fast before my appointment?

We have upgraded our range of tests so you can continue to eat and drink normally before your screening takes place, but full preparation instructions will be provided in writing when you book your appointment.

I can no longer attend my appointment, what should I do?

Please contact us as soon as possible on 0800 652 2183 so that we may allocate your appointment to another customer. We will be able to rearrange your appointment for another date and time at no extra cost.
